Dougie Hamilton led the way for New Jersey, scoring on the power play and adding two assists to earn First Star honors. Paul Cotter also made a strong impact with a goal, an assist, and two hits, collecting Second Star recognition.

The decisive moment came early in the third period when Stefan Noesen scored to give the Devils a 4-2 advantage. Toronto pushed back later in the frame as Max Domi found the net with 8:26 remaining, but New Jersey tightened defensively down the stretch and denied the Maple Leafs an equalizer.

Goaltender Jacob Markström delivered a steady performance, stopping 16 of 19 shots to earn his seventh playoff victory.

Woll, now 10-2-2 in the postseason, allowed four goals for the first time since Game 5 of Toronto’s conference semifinal series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
