AUSTIN, TX — No. 12 Ole Miss piled up 39 points, but it wasn’t enough as No. 13 Texas outlasted the Rebels 45-39 in a high-scoring SEC battle at Texas Memorial Stadium.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss kept the Rebels (5-2, 3-2) in the fight, completing 73.2% of his passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns. But his three interceptions proved costly in a game decided by six points.

Receiver Johntay Cook II was Chambliss’ biggest weapon, finishing with 157 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning delivered an even more efficient performance, completing 81.8% of his passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. It marked Manning’s fifth consecutive game with at least 280 passing yards.

Receiver Ryan Wingo helped fuel the Longhorns’ attack with 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The loss dropped Ole Miss to 5-2, while Texas improved to an identical 5-2 record and 2-2 in SEC play.

Both teams return home for SEC matchups next. Ole Miss hosts Auburn, while Texas welcomes Mississippi State as the Longhorns look to build on their shootout victory.
