Ohio State takes over at No. 1
Ohio State took over the No. 1 ranking after surviving a 49-47 overtime thriller against defending national champion Indiana.
The Buckeyes took advantage of BYU’s bye week to leapfrog the Cougars for the top spot. Quarterback Julian Sayinthrew for 188 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Bo Jackson powered the ground game with 172 rushing yards to help sustain drives.
The loss was Indiana’s fourth of the season as the Hoosiers’ difficult title defense continued.
Florida stuns No. 4 Texas
Texas suffered a major blow to its CFP hopes after falling 27-18 at home to unranked Florida.
The Gators’ defense set the tone, holding the Longhorns to just three points in the first half. Sophomore quarterback Aaron Philo helped Florida capitalize, throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns against one interception.

It was Texas’ second loss in four weeks, sending the Longhorns tumbling 14 spots from No. 4 to No. 18.
The road ahead doesn’t get any easier. Texas faces No. 7 Ole Miss next, and its final three games are all against teams currently ranked in the Top 25. Another loss could severely damage the Longhorns’ chances of reaching the CFP.
No. 5 Hurricanes fizzle against Florida State
Miami joined Texas among the week’s biggest casualties, plummeting from No. 5 to No. 19 after a 35-30 loss to Florida State.
Senior quarterback Ashton Daniels carved up the Hurricanes for 331 passing yards and three touchdowns, with Duce Robinson hauling in all three scoring passes.

Running back Ousmane Kromah provided the finishing touch on the ground, scoring twice on short-yardage runs as the Seminoles handed Miami a costly defeat.
The loss sent the Hurricanes tumbling 14 spots and added another major shakeup to an increasingly unpredictable Top 25.
