ATHENS, GA — Georgia (2-1) dropped nine spots to No. 10 after a 30-24 loss to unranked Louisville, a result that may not come as a complete surprise.
The warning signs had been building. The Bulldogs opened the season with a narrow 40-34 win over Florida State, followed by another close call against Duke. Without a convincing performance through the first two weeks, Georgia left the door open — and Louisville took advantage at home.

Quarterback Ryan Puglisi, a redshirt junior, is still settling into his role as the starter. After appearing in just one game during the 2026 season, the 6-foot-3, 213-pound “backfield creator” is adjusting to leading the offense full-time and continues to develop confidence at the position.
Following a bye week, Georgia faces a stretch that will define its season, beginning with Texas A&M and Missouri before a matchup with No. 21 Oklahoma. The road only gets tougher from there, with key SEC battles looming against No. 8 Florida and No. 4 LSU.
