SOUTH BEND, IN — Texas Longhorns dominated every phase of the game Saturday, routing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 45-3 and knocking the Irish out of the Top 25.

Junior quarterback Cliff Honeywell carved up Notre Dame’s defense, throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns while adding one interception. Senior receiver Koby Young enjoyed a breakout performance, hauling in seven receptions for 103 yards and all three of honeywell’s touchdown passes. Junior running back River Peppers added 100 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

Notre Dame’s offense never found its footing. Freshman quarterback Stephen Keisel endured a difficult afternoon, throwing three interceptions without a touchdown, while running back Paul Harper was held to just 16 yards on 10 carries. The Irish continue to feel the effects of losing former starting quarterback CJ Carr, who transferred to LSU in the offseason.

Texas climbed two spots to No. 7 with the victory, while Notre Dame fell completely out of the rankings after suffering its second loss in as many weeks.
