SAN JOSE, CA — Baylor Bears continued their fast start to the 2028 season Saturday, overpowering the San Jose State Spartans 51-21 at CEFCU Stadium to improve to 2-0.
One week after hanging 58 points on North Texas, Baylor again showcased one of the nation’s most explosive offenses. The Bears scored touchdowns in every quarter and never allowed San Jose State to mount a serious challenge.

Senior quarterback Walker White was nearly flawless, completing an efficient performance with 230 passing yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score on a quarterback keeper. White has now thrown five touchdown passes without an interception through the first two games of the season.
Senior running back Tyshawn King complemented the passing attack with 78 rushing yards and a touchdown, while wide receiver Ramier Hardy caught two touchdown passes. Tight end Joey Olsen added Baylor’s other receiving touchdown.
The game’s biggest highlight came from Quincy Robinson, who ignited the Bears with a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Robinson finished with three receptions for 37 yards in addition to his special teams score.
Baylor seized control immediately. White connected with hardy for two first-quarter touchdown passes to build a 14-0 lead, and Robinson’s kickoff return, along with a pair of field goals by Bruce Cook, stretched the advantage to 27-7 by halftime.
The Bears never eased off the gas, outscoring San Jose State 24-14 after the break to complete another convincing victory.
San Jose State struggled to keep pace offensively despite 234 passing yards from sophomore quarterback Alec McGary. The Spartans failed to throw a touchdown pass, and mcgary’s lone interception halted one of their best scoring opportunities.
Through two weeks, Baylor has outscored its opponents 109-34 and appears to be carrying the momentum that eluded the Bears at the end of last season.
