DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Tigers carried a three-game winning streak into the All-Star break and emerged from the time off without losing any momentum, cruising past the NL-leading Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 at Comerica Park.

Detroit jumped on Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow for six runs over the first three innings, chasing the right-hander after just 2⅓ innings. Glasnow, who entered with eight victories, was tagged with his seventh loss of the season.

Colt Keith did the most damage, crushing two home runs and driving in three of Detroit’s six runs. Yandy Díaz also went deep, launching his 28th homer of the season.

Los Angeles didn’t get on the board until the sixth inning. Will Smith provided all of the Dodgers’ offense, hitting a pair of solo home runs for his 16th and 17th of the season, with his second coming in the ninth.

Freddy Peralta handled the rest for Detroit, working six innings and allowing one run on eight hits to earn his 10th victory of the season.

AS IT STANDS…

The Tigers improved to 59-39 and extended their AL Central lead to five games over the Cleveland Guardians, who lost their second straight.

The Dodgers fell to 60-37, leaving them tied with the Seattle Mariners for the best record in baseball.
