LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Sparks completed a furious fourth-quarter comeback Tuesday night, rallying past the Washington Mystics 78-71 at Crypto.com Arena for their second straight victory.

Kelsey Plum led Los Angeles with 18 points, while Dearica Hamby delivered a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Azurá Stevens added 15 points and 5 boards, and Cameron Brink pulled down 10 rebounds.

The victory followed a 106-71 rout of Connecticut in which the Sparks topped 100 points for the first time this season. Julie Vanloo led LA with 17 points in that win, while Brink grabbed 13 rebounds.

Against Washington, however, the Sparks had to fight from behind.

The Mystics jumped out to a 22-15 lead after the first quarter and carried a 44-36 advantage into halftime. Washington remained in control through the third, taking a 63-52 lead into the final frame.

Then the game completely flipped.

Los Angeles clamped down defensively, holding Washington to just 8 fourth-quarter points while pouring in 26 of its own. Vanloo completed the comeback with a three-pointer with 1:33 remaining, giving the Sparks their first lead at 71-69.

Shakira Austin kept Washington alive with a layup that cut LA’s advantage to 74-71 with 40 seconds remaining, but the Mystics would not score again. The Sparks converted four straight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

The Sparks have now won seven of their last 10 games and remain firmly in the playoff picture at No. 5. Los Angeles sits 4.5 games behind the first-place Atlanta Dream and holds a four-game cushion over ninth-place Seattle (12-10).
