CARY, NC — Seattle Reign FC let a two-goal lead slip and settled for a 2-2 draw against North Carolina Courage in rainy conditions at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Lynn Biyendolo opened the scoring just four minutes in, netting Seattle’s first goal of the season after being shut out on Matchday 1. She struck again in the 60th minute to give the Reign a 2-0 advantage and put the visitors in control.
The lead unraveled quickly. Manaka Matsukubo pulled one back in the 67th minute, then completed her brace after a defensive miscue allowed her to finish from close range and level the match at 2-2.
Seattle held on late, thanks to goalkeeper Claudia Dickey, who preserved the point in the 90th minute by tipping Matsukubo’s close-range effort over the bar.
