The New York Yankees (44-43) went 13-13 in June and remain in third place, 5.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays(48-36), who matched that same 13-13 mark. The Boston Red Sox also continue to tread water, while the Toronto Blue Jays (45-42) climbed from fourth to second and now trail Tampa Bay by 4.5 games. Toronto is also tied with the Los Angeles Angels (45-42) for the top AL Wild Card spot.

The Detroit Tigers went 16-11 in June and extended their lead in the AL Central. The Cleveland Guardians, who began the month in second, slipped to third and now sit eight games back. The Minnesota Twins (43-44) have moved into second place.

Out West, the Seattle Mariners surged, going 20-7 in June to build a 14-game lead over the Angels. The Houston Astros (45-43) dropped from second to third. Cal Raleigh powered Seattle’s run, hitting .402 with 11 homers and 23 RBI to earn Player of the Month honors.

In the NL East, the Miami Marlins (52-34) widened their lead to five games over the New York Mets (47-39) after a 14-13 month. New York stumbled late, winning just three of its final 10 games.

The NL Central remains tight. The Cincinnati Reds (49-36) and Chicago Cubs (50-37) are now tied for first, with the Pittsburgh Pirates (48-38) just 1.5 games back. The Milwaukee Brewers sit 5.5 games out.

In the NL West, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ lead over the San Diego Padres shrank from 4.5 games to one. San Diego went 19-7 in June, while Los Angeles finished 16-11. The return of Shohei Ohtani helped stabilize the Dodgers during the stretch.

The NL Wild Card race is crowded. The Padres hold a firm edge, but fewer than two games separate the Reds, Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Pirates for the remaining spots.
