England left no doubt who was the class of Group L, overwhelming Croatia 7-0 in one of the most dominant performances of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The seven-goal victory was the largest margin in a World Cup match since 2002, when Germany defeated Saudi Arabia8-0 behind Miroslav Klose’s hat trick in Sapporo.

England wasted little time asserting its dominance. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 19th minute before adding his second just before halftime in the 43rd. Bukayo Saka capped the first-half barrage with a goal in stoppage time, sending the Three Lions into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

England never let up after halftime. Jude Bellingham made it 4-0 in the 70th minute before Saka completed his hat trick with goals in the 72nd and 76th minutes as Croatia’s defense completely unraveled. Bellingham added his second goal in the 90th minute to complete the rout.

Despite an even split in possession, England was ruthless in front of goal, placing nine shots on target and overwhelming Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livaković. Croatia managed just three shots, with only two testing the English keeper.

The emphatic victory secures England first place in Group L, while Croatia advances to the knockout stage as the group runner-up despite suffering the heaviest defeat of the tournament.
