WACO, TX — Fifteenth-ranked Baylor rolled to its third straight Big 12 victory, crushing Oklahoma State 55-3 at McLane Stadium to strengthen its grip on first place in the conference. The loss dropped the Cowboys to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play, leaving them at the bottom of the standings.

The Bears (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) took advantage of multiple Oklahoma State mistakes, scoring 21 points off turnovers in a game that quickly got out of hand.

Baylor’s offense started methodically before junior running back Tyshawn King broke loose for a 41-yard touchdown run with 6:32 left in the opening quarter. From there, the Bears exploded offensively.

The second quarter turned into a nightmare for Oklahoma State, as Baylor poured in 31 points. Quarterback Walker White threw three touchdown passes during the quarter, including a 5-yard strike to King, helping the Bears race to a 38-0 halftime lead.

With the game firmly in hand, Baylor eased off in the second half, though White added one more touchdown — a 29-yard pass to Jadon Porter — to extend the lead to 45-0.

Oklahoma State avoided the shutout with a 40-yard field goal as time expired in the third quarter.

With the outcome decided long before the fourth quarter began, Baylor turned to its reserves. Junior backup quarterback Nate Bennett  threw the first touchdown pass of his college career in the final minute, connecting with transfer tight end Joey Olson on a 9-yard score.

White finished with 313 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Bennett completed 7 of 10 passes for 68 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Defensively, senior edge rushers Corey Kelly and Jaylin Jones anchored a dominant effort, recording two sacks each. Baylor’s secondary also contributed three interceptions against Oklahoma State quarterback Ben Orlando, who completed 19 of 25 passes for 191 yards.
